My Dog Died, I never expected this... Description
One of the things we tend to overlook when we invite a new and adorable pet to join our family is the fact that animals go from babyhood to adulthood and old age much faster than we do.
Which means there's a very good chance we will outlive them.
We never want to think about this. We never want to think about our own demise, either.
One of the things my pet's death taught me is that life really is short, and if we want to do something, we really should start doing it now -- or at least start thinking about it.
There's no miracle cure for the pain that you feel when you lose a beloved pet, but letting its departure spur you to begin thinking about the life you want can help get your mind off of your sorrow and onto more constructive things.
Recently my best friends dog was run over by a workman leaving the yard. It was cold for California, and Lulu was well under his truck. He just took off and did not see her.
This is what happened next... I could see that the Vet wanted to tell the family to say goodbye. The family wanted to have ex-rays, operations anything to bring their Lulu back.
Lulu was in a lot of pain still even after a shot from the Vet. It took all my courage to approach the Father (so to speak) to suggest that they all say goodbye and let the Vet give her the Compassionate and Loving way out. To my surprise he agreed and spoke with the family.
As we all held hands around Lulu and said goodbye, the kids really started to cry. We all thanked Lulu for her many years of love and joy that she brought to us all she looked at us and simply closed her eyes forever. So, after a couple of hours the Vet called and told us we made the right decision, he went ahead and did the ex-ray and told us her spine could not be repaired.
We were so thankful for that call from our Vet.
If you loss your pet go ahead and get this book it will certainly help with your recovery.
